Day 4: “Christian Entertainment In The Church”

Standard

This “tough” message by A. W. Tozer speaks about how entertainment in the church is not beneficial to Christians nor pleasing to God. If you are wondering how Christian Rock could possibly be bad, watch the video and answer this question honestly: Does this type of music uplift God or does it uplift me?

Day 1: “Music And The Christian”

Standard

I felt that the clips from the documentary “They Sold Their Souls For Rock And Roll” was a bit too dark and creepy. I think we all know that such singers like Pink Floyd, the Eagles, the Beach Boys, and other rock and roll musicians are not fitting for the ears of a Christian. Instead I would like to share this two part sermon by Doug Batchelor. Here’s some valuable information to consider on this first day of fasting from worldly music:

Dear God, please help us to start enjoying Your kind of music during this SPAM Fast. Lead us closer to You and to Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Day Five: Alternative Contemporary Christian Music

Standard

Today I would like to show you examples of Contemporary Christian Music artists that have helped me in my relationship with Jesus Christ. I would encourage you to check out these singers and also find others to go with them with the help of the Holy Spirit.

There are so many alternatives to Secular Rock and Roll and Christian Rock Music!

Day 3: “Counterfeit Christianity”

Standard

The late Pastor David Wilkinson, who authored the fascinating book, “The Cross and The Switchblade” gave a really interesting perspective on Christian Heavy Metal. Listen to this short message with an opened mind and heart to the Holy Spirit’s impressions through this strong message.

You can listen to this message, “Counterfeit Christianity” in its entirety at Youtube.

Day Seven: “What Will You Do?”

Standard

We have learned a lot about music during this week. On this last day let us consider what we will do with the information that the Holy Spirit has given us on the subjects of Rock and Roll and Christian Rock music. Will we love Jesus or our music more? The choice is up to us.
