Day Three

Standard

Today we will be fasting from the negative emotion, Anger. When someone hurts our feelings or gives us a hard time this feeling comes in and sadly, more often than not, we give in to it. When a person has angry feelings toward another the one who mostly gets hurt by it is the one who harbors it. The person who gets hollered or yelled at eventually heals from it, but the one who holds on to Anger eventually gets sick physically and spiritually from it. If we feel angry the best thing we can do is give it to Jesus and let Him push Anger out with His love that is pure and everlasting.

Here are some verses from the Bible that can help you overcome Anger:

“He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.”  Proverbs 14:29 KJV.

“Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.” James 1: 19-20 KJV.

“Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.” Ecclesiastes 7:9 KJV.

“A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.” Proverbs 15:1 KJV.

“Do all things without murmurings and disputings.” Philippians 2:14 KJV.

“A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.” Proverbs 15:18 KJV.

“He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.” Proverbs 16:32 KJV.
